Happy to be Home
These are the images and stories of former residents of the DFW Humane Society. Each found a comforting home and loving owners to care for them. If you adopted your pet through our Humane Society, we'd love for you to share your story. You may do so at this link.

Anna Bell (owner: Tim G.) Hi! My name is Anna Bell. I was adopted by my daddy in December of 2010. I am 7 months old now. I have the best forever home. My daddy plays fetch with me with my favorite stuffed mouse. I love to climb up and lounge on my cat tree. When I get all of my energy out, I really like to rest on the window sill in my room to watch the birds outside or curl up on my daddy's lap while he is on the computer.
Annabelle Lee (owner: Jake J.) Annabelle (the dog on the right) was adopted about 8 years ago from the DFW Humane Society. She is very protective of our kids, and loves all children. She knows how to play dead and roll over, and is a very funny dog. We love her and her sister Talula, who was also a rescue. Thank you DFW Humane Society!
Argus (was Gustavo) (owner: Pippa and Marc C.) We picked up Argus (was named Gustavo) at the DFW shelter in Irving less than a week ago and he is already loving his new found life and ready made family---Mom, Dad, and 2 Bernese Mountain Dog Brothers. He is learning new commands (sit and come and wait so far), has visited the off-leash doggy park, and has learned how to go pee outside really fast. But as you can see there is nothing he likes better than collecting all the doggy toys in a pile and playing with them. His brothers, Chief and Kai, and being very good about sharing them with him. We are so glad to have this boy in our lives!
Austin (owner: Jennifer L.) Hello My name is Austin and I was adopted from DFW Humane Society in December 2009. Someone brought me and my brothers and sisters to the Irving shelter when we were just 4 weeks old. We were too little to take care of ourselves and our Momma was nowhere to be found. A nice lady took us to her house and took care of us until we were old enough to be adopted. When I finally got to my new house I met my big brother and best friend Oliver. As you can see we are best buddies.
Baxter (owner: Kate M.) My mom brought me in after a family found me wandering the streets of a McKinney neighborhood. Boomer and I sure do look a lot alike, but I'm older. I really love my new family!
Bella (owner: Jeannette J.) I went home with my new owners in August of 2010. My name was Dion but I love my new name Bella. I like to play with my stuffed toy mice, and my mom's ear plugs. I also like to help momma with the laundry as you can tell in the pic. But my favorite thing is to climb into bed with momma and daddy and play spoiled kitty.....I can't wait until July when we move in to our new big house and might be getting a sister......
