guardian angel fund

Thank you for your compassion for our special needs Guardian Angel pets

The Guardian Angel Fund is a special fund designated for medical expenses for the pets in our care. Your donation to the Guardian Angel provides funds for critical care that pets in our shelter require for conditions ranging from heartworms to broken bones and more. Your gift provides healing and hope for these injured and unwanted pets. Donate to a specific pet that needs your help below, or make a general donation to the Guardian Angel Fund that will allow us to rescue and seek medical care for more injured and ill pets.

ATHENA

ATHENA

Athena recently needed treatment for a painful abscess- an infected pocket under the skin. She required sedation so her veterinary team could drain and debride the wound, removing infected tissue and cleaning the area so it could heal properly. Donations to her Guardian Angel fund will help cover the cost of her treatment and medication.

BARRETT

BARRETT

Barrett is a brave little fighter on a complicated medical journey. Diagnosed with megaesophagus, Barrett has spent months battling chronic diarrhea, weight loss, and ongoing digestive issues that have left him in need of continued care. Our friends at Atlas Pet Vets in Frisco are working to determine whether he may have a motility disorder, which requires specialized testing and treatment. His current medical costs have already exceeded $1,500 and may continue to rise as we search for answers. Guardian Angel donations help ensure Barrett gets the care, comfort, and support he deserves every step of the way. Donations also help cover the cost of his prescription food, supplements, and other day-to-day care items.

HEARTWORM FUND

HEARTWORM FUND

Heartworm disease is treatable, but lifesaving care comes at a cost. Last year, our shelter treated 14 animals for heartworm, and with your support we hope to help just as many (or more!) this year. Individual treatments typically cost $200–$300 per pet, and donations to this fund go directly toward medical care for dogs like our current heartworm-positive resident, Ares.

NANOOK

NANOOK

Nanook, a 7-year-old pup in our care, needs a dental procedure to clean his teeth and remove any that are damaged or painful due to age and his slight underbite. Dental surgery helps eliminate infection, relieve discomfort, and keep him healthy so he can eat, play, and enjoy life without pain.
