We found Bear at the Mega Adoption Event in Ft Worth in August 2026. We were originally there to find a kitten for our daughter her had recently lost her cat. We decided to go look around at the dogs because we love animals and we were enjoying the family time. We agreed we were just going to go look and then leave. That was until I was walking around with my fiancé and we found Bear. He was laying calmly in the crate just observing everything going on. I pointed him out and started loving on him through the crate bars while my fiancé read the Pokémon info card about him. One of the staff members came up and started telling us about how much of a love bug he is and saying how much the staff adores him. Out of curiosity I asked about his adoption fee and when they said fees were waived I about cried. We fell in love instantly. As a family we met bear and loved on him and decided to take him home. We had 2 females at home already and were told he does good with females, but we were still a bit concerned. We took him home anyways. When we got home we slowly introduced the girls one at a time in the back yard. Immediately they all got along like they had grown up together. He still gets a bit excited around the cats but he’s slowly starting to ignore them. He is so gentle with my 2yr old son as well and I couldn’t ask for a better dog. My son is always cuddling him and in his face and sat on him once (no we don’t allow it to happen. We correct my son and do our best to keep him out of the dogs’ faces and not let them sit on him for everyone’s health and safety) Bear just laid there and gave him kisses. I couldn’t ask not have asked for a better dog or a better outcome.
